Basketball Recap: Indian Creek Comes Up Short

Indian Creek lost against Mount de Sales Academy back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Indian Creek Eagles lost to the Mount de Sales Academy Sailors on the road by a 72-54 margin. The Eagles were down 56-33 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Mount de Sales Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Katie Carroll out in front who went 8 of 11 on her way to 17 points and five boards. Those 17 points gave Carroll a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Conley, who went 6 for 11 en route to 19 points and three steals.

Indian Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7-1. As for Mount de Sales Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Indian Creek and Mount de Sales Academy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings. Indian Creek (ranked 90th) will meet City College (ranked 218th) at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Mount de Sales Academy will face off against Century at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday up 178 places (36 vs. 214).
