Basketball Recap: CES Academy Comes Up Short

CES Academy fought the good fight in their overtime match against Faith Baptist Christian Academy on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Faith Baptist Christian Academy Crusaders by a score of 55-52. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Knights have suffered since November 7th.

Faith Baptist Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aidan Massey, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. Massey's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Robert Barber was another key player, putting up 11 points.

CES Academy's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Faith Baptist Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. CES Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Crossroads Christian at 6:30 p.m. on January 16, 2025. As for Faith Baptist Christian Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against The Habersham School at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Habersham School will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Faith Baptist Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
