If Chatfield was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Dover-Eyota on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Gophers fell just short of the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The Gophers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Cora Bicknese paced Chatfield's offense, picking up 12 kills. Bicknese got some help from Harper Goldsmith and her 20 assists. Bicknese was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Chatfield's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Wadena-Deer Creek, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

Coincidentally, Chatfield and Wadena-Deer Creek will both be playing Belle Plaine the next time they take the court. The Wolverines will host the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Gophers will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
