Recap: Lanett Panthers vs. Fyffe Red Devils

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Lanett Panthers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 48-40 victory over the Red Devils. Lanett is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 14 straight.

Lanett was led to victory by Laila Lancaster and Nakeriona Heard. Lancaster almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds, while Heard dropped a double-double on 21 points and 16 rebounds. Lancaster is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted three or more in the last four games she's played. Makayla Davis was another key contributor, scoring five points.

Lanett pushed their record up to 21-4 with that win, which was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 27.5 points. As for Fyffe, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-14 record this season.

Lanett will head out on the road to take on Pisgah at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Lanett focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday. Fyffe does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
