Volleyball Recap: Stoughton Comes Up Short

Stoughton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sun Prairie East Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in August.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-12.

Payton Hefty paced Stoughton's offense, picking up three kills. Hefty got some help from Lia Tiede and her seven assists.

Stoughton's loss dropped their record down to 7-22. As for Sun Prairie East, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-11.

Stoughton has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Cambridge on the 27th. As for Sun Prairie East, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Oshkosh West on the 27th.
