Basketball Preview: Wright City Lumberjax vs. Valliant Bulldogs
The Wright City Lumberjax will head out on the road to challenge the Valliant Bulldogs at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Oklahoma (Wright City is ranked 90th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 77th).
Wright City unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 57-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rattan. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Wright City in their matchups with the Rams: they've now lost six in a row.
The losing side was boosted by Conner Green, who scored 26 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Joseph Vance, who scored seven points along with three blocks.
Meanwhile, Valliant stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They put the hurt on Atoka with a sharp 54-33 victory. The victory was nothing new for Valliant as they're now sitting on three straight.
Wright City's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-4. As for Valliant, their win bumped their record up to 17-4.
Wright City took their victory against the Bulldogs when the teams last played last Thursday by a conclusive 64-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wright City since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
