Basketball Game Preview: Salida Spartans vs. Conifer Lobos

The Salida Spartans will face off against the Conifer Lobos at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Conifer took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Salida, who comes in off a win.

Salida will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating St. Mary's, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Salida walked away with a 46-37 victory over St. Mary's on Saturday.

It was another big night for Braeden Johnson, who shot 45% from the field en route to 25 points along with eight boards and six assists. Another player making a difference was Graysa Kindle, who posted eight points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Conifer's good fortune finally ran out two weeks ago. They took a blow against Evergreen, falling 60-19. The contest marked the Lobos' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Conifer saw an underclassman step up: freshman Izzy Ogdon had 15 points.

Salida has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. Conifer's loss dropped their record down to 14-9.
