Baseball Game Preview: Hillsboro Eagles vs. Kennedale Wildcats

Hillsboro hasn't had much luck against Kennedale recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Hillsboro will square off against Kennedale at 7:00 p.m. Hillsboro has given up an average of 8.5 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hillsboro lost 11-5 to Alvarado on Tuesday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Connor Creech was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Hillsboro is 3-1 when Creech posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-11 otherwise.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Kennedale took on Krum on Friday. Kennedale was the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over Krum. 11 seems to be a good number for the Wildcats as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Kennedale is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. Hillsboro suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 6-12.

Hillsboro might still be hurting after the 13-0 defeat they got from Kennedale in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Hillsboro avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
