Softball Game Preview: Salem Rams vs. Penns Grove Red Devils

The Salem Rams will head out to square off against the Penns Grove Red Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses dating back to last season for Salem and three for Penns Grove.

Salem fell victim to Gloucester Catholic and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against Gloucester Catholic, falling 19-0.

Meanwhile, Penns Grove lost 19-1 to Paulsboro on Thursday.

Penns Grove saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yeneris Garcia, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Penns Grove's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Salem, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Everything went Salem's way against Penns Grove when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Salem made off with an 18-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
