Football Game Preview: Lee's Summit Tigers vs. Park Hill South Panthers

The Lee's Summit Tigers will square off against the Park Hill South Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Park Hill South took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Lee's Summit, who comes in off a win.

Lee's Summit took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They strolled past Lee's Summit West with points to spare, taking the game 33-15.

Lee's Summit can attribute much of their success to Drew Benassi, who rushed for 149 yards and three touchdowns, and Karsten Fiene, who rushed for 132 yards and a pair of scores. Those 149 rushing yards gave Benassi a new career-high. Lee's Summit also got a significant boost from Peyton Hatfield, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 94 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lee's Summit was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 402 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Park Hill South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 35-0 loss at the hands of Park Hill.

Park Hill South's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Lee's Summit, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Everything came up roses for Lee's Summit against Park Hill South when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 50-10 win. In that contest, the Tigers amassed a halftime lead of 34-10, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
