Preview: New Underwood vs. Lemmon/McIntosh
On Thursday Lemmon/McIntosh will take on New Underwood . Lemmon/McIntosh strut in flaunting some offensive muscle with an average of 35.5 points per game.
After flying high against Bison two weeks ago, Lemmon/McIntosh came back down to earth. Lemmon/McIntosh were completely outmatched, falling 14-54 to Herreid/Selby. Despite the loss, Lemmon/McIntosh saw an underclassman step up: Sophomore Cody Thompson passed for 283 yards and 2 touchdowns. If you haven't heard Thompson's name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past three games.
Meanwhile, New Underwood put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. They took the match and then some with a 50-0 win over Edgemont. The rankings were on New Underwood's side, but they didn't forecast quite such a lopsided result.
New Underwood's victory lifted them to 5-3 while Lemmon/McIntosh's defeat dropped them down to 4-4. We'll find out if New Underwood can add another positive mark to their record or if Lemmon/McIntosh can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of New Underwood's step.
