Baseball Recap: Geneseo Wins Going Away Against Mercer County

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sterling, Geneseo was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They blew past the Mercer County Golden Eagles 12-1. The Maple Leafs haven't had any issues with the Golden Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Geneseo's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-17. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Mercer County, their loss dropped their record down to 12-17.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Geneseo will challenge LaSalle-Peru at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mercer County, they will face off against Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
