Volleyball Recap: Yale Gets the Win

The Yale Bulldogs beat the Roeper Roughriders 2-0 on Saturday.

Yale found their leader in sophomore Olivia Runnals, who had 11 aces and five digs. Those 11 aces set a new season-high mark for Runnals. The team also got some help courtesy of Adison Utter, who had four aces.

Yale was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 27 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in four consecutive contests.

Yale's victory bumped their record up to 20-14-1. As for Roeper, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Yale will host Imlay City at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Roeper, they will face off against Southfield Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
