Recap: Ansonia Chargers vs. Derby Red Raiders

The Ansonia Chargers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Derby 54-29. The score was close at the half, but Ansonia pulled away in the second half with 38 points.

Ansonia is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. As for Derby, their loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-9.

Ansonia will challenge Oxford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Oxford knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Ansonia likes a good challenge. As for Derby, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Paul Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Paul Catholic is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
