Volleyball Recap: Auburn Gets the Win

Auburn had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Valmeyer Pirates on Monday. The Trojans were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Pirates, so the Trojans were just returning the favor.

Reese Megginson paced Auburn's offense, picking up nine kills. Megginson got some help from Jocelyn Law and her 14 assists. Law also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Jenna Arenz, racking up two apiece.

Auburn has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against East Alton-Wood River on the 25th. As for Valmeyer, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Calhoun on the 25th.
