Phoenix Christian got themselves on the board against Tonopah Valley on Friday, but Tonopah Valley never followed suit. They claimed a resounding  35-0 win over the Phoenix. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won eight matchups by 20  points or more  so far this season.
It was another big night for  Gio Young, who rushed for 119 yards and a pair of  scores on only eight carries. He really tore up the turf  during one magnificent 75-yard run.  Kevin Palafox helped out on the ground, rushing for 83 yards and a  rushing touchdown.
 Another reason for the win was Phoenix Christian's imposing  defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by  Daniel Sanchez and  Cassidy Kovach, who racked up  four sacks between them.
Phoenix Christian's record now sits at 8-2. As for Tonopah Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
 Phoenix Christian will have some time to savor their  victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Benson at 7:00  p.m.  on  the 7th. As for Tonopah Valley, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  43-6  defeat against Tanque Verde on the 31st.
