A Season-Best Performance from Aydden Cherry Leads West Stokes over Reidsville

West Stokes came up short on Friday despite Aydden Cherry delivering his best game to date. Cherry rushed for 206 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards.

The loss snapped West Stokes' winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 6-2 record. Cherry and West Stokes will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Walkertown at 7:30 p.m. on November 1st.

Dionte Neal's Rushing Yards a New Career-High

On Friday, Reidsville got the W thanks in part to Dionte Neal playing the best football he has all season. Neal rushed for 111 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 335 yards and two touchdowns while completing 77.4% of his passes, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

The victory for Reidsville keeps them at an undefeated 7-0. Neal and Reidsville will head out to face off against Walkertown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Reidsville Wins 19th-Straight Thanks to Jariel Cobb

Reidsville picked up their 19th consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Jariel Cobb. Cobb was dynamite, rushing for 178 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also picking up 37 receiving yards. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 52 yards.

Unfortunately for West Stokes, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Cobb. Cobb rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries the last time he and the Wildcats duked it out back in November of 2023.

Carter Posts Huge Game in 24-14 Win

Morehead found a leader in Braxton Carter as the squad took down T.W. Andrews on Friday. T.W. Andrews had no answer to Carter as he rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns. Carter has become a key player for Morehead: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-5 otherwise.

Morehead's win ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6. Carter and Morehead will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on North Forsyth at 7:30 p.m. on October 25th.

Camereon Cartlidge's Big Game Leads Walkertown over North Forsyth

Camereon Cartlidge continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his seventh-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least seven total tackles. He picked up a sack and made 16 total tackles (4.0 for loss).

The victory was the third in a row for Walkertown, bringing their record for this year to 6-1. Cartlidge and Walkertown will challenge Reidsville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
