Baseball Recap: Carnegie Wildcats vs. Rock Creek Mustangs
While Carnegie didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They had just enough and edged out the Rock Creek Mustangs 12-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since April 11, 2024.
Stetson West was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for Carnegie: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Abel Resendez was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

West wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Carnegie kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.
The victory made it two in a row for Carnegie and bumps their season record up to 6-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Rock Creek, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Carnegie Wildcats challenge Lookeba-Sickles Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on March 24th. As for Rock Creek, they will face off against Wright City at 4:30 p.m. on March 24th.
