Recap: Pomperaug Panthers vs. Stamford Black Knights
After flying high against the Foran Lions on Tuesday, the Pomperaug Panthers came back down to earth. Pomperaug fell 48-39 to Stamford on Friday.
Stamford can attribute much of their success to Ejai Presley , who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Presley is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Winchester, who scored seven points.
Pomperaug's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Stamford, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Pomperaug will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Immaculate at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Immaculate is ranked 46th, while Pomperaug is ranked 67th). Stamford and Weston will round out the year against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday at.
