Baseball Game Preview: Tenino Beavers vs. Montesano Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Tenino will face off against Montesano. The Beavers are taking a road trip to challenge the Bulldogs at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Tenino 4, Montesano 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Tenino's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Tuesday's struggle, when Montesano hitters got past them. The Beavers wound up with the same score they had in their last game (11-6), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Mikey Vassar made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Jack Burkhardt, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

The victory (which was Montesano's ninth in a row) raised their record to 10-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Tenino, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 11-1.
