Rancho Mirage waltzed into their matchup on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They snuck past the Palm Desert Aztecs with a 65-59 victory. This was a revenge game for the Rattlers: when they faced off against the Aztecs on January 8th, they had to take a 70-63 loss.

Several Aztecs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jecorey Jones, who posted 14 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Jones is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Wil Wilson, who went 7 of 16 on his way to 18 points.

Rancho Mirage pushed their record up to 20-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Palm Desert, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-8.

Rancho Mirage and Palm Desert should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Rancho Mirage (ranked 288th) will meet La Quinta (ranked 708th) at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Palm Desert will take on Shadow Hills at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday up 369 places (359 vs. 728).
