Baseball Game Preview: Green Run Stallions vs. Oscar Smith Tigers

Green Run is 0-4 against Oscar Smith since April of 2018 but things could change on Wednesday. The Stallions will face off against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Green Run has given up an average of 13.8 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Green Run is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 17th straight game on Saturday. They lost 13-1 to Bayside.

Meanwhile, Oscar Smith fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Lakeland on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cavaliers by a score of 5-3. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dominick Zak was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. He has become a key player for Oscar Smith: the team is 5-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-8 otherwise. Zak was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Donte Brooks Jr. made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Green Run's record is now 0-17. As for Oscar Smith, their record now sits at 9-9.

Green Run might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Oscar Smith when the teams last played back in May of 2023. Can the Stallions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
