Lake View dropped their record down to 10-4 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Latta Vikings by a score of 4-3. The Wild Gators were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Vikings earlier this season, when they won 10-7.

As for Latta, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.1 runs over those games.

For Latta's part, their victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Mason Weatherford, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits Weatherford has posted since back in May of 2024.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake View will challenge Carvers Bay at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Latta, they will take on Mount View at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Golden Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.6 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of.
