Soccer Game Preview: Germantown vs. Fond du Lac

The Germantown Warhawks will take on the Fond du Lac Cardinals on Tuesday. Germantown is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 11 games.

Germantown's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against West Allis Hale as they made off with a 7-0 win. Considering Germantown have won eight matchups by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, Fond du Lac was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They fell just short of Kimberly by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Fond du Lac can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin soccer rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while Kimberly are ranked 17th).

Germantown pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those nine games. As for Fond du Lac, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
