League recap: Hammond dominating on the mound for Sacramento Waldorf

Central Valley California league recap: 5/14/12

Charlie Hammond was the best pitcher in Central Valley California this week. He accumulated two wins and 19 strikeouts.

Blake Owen was on fire this week, as he led the league with a .857 average with one RBI. Meanwhile, Victory Christian put together a 2-0 week.

Sacramento Waldorf's 47 strikeouts this week were a league-worst, but Foresthill has struck out more times (171) than any other team this year

Woodland Christian gave up the fewest hits in the league over the past week (three), but the Waves have surrendered a league-fewest 43 base hits over the entire season.

Sacramento Waldorf's Hammond finished his week with eight hits, tops in the league. His 17 hits for the year are sixteenth in the league, and he boasts a .548 batting average.
