Baseball Recap: Broadalbin-Perth Triumphs

Broadalbin-Perth posted their closest victory since May 12, 2025 on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Glens Falls Indians 7-6. The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won three in a row.

Garrett Jackowski was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, five stolen bases, and three runs. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (four).

In other batting news, Maddox Nichani was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Broadalbin-Perth's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Jordan Goebel, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Broadalbin-Perth's record is now 9-6. As for Glens Falls, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 9-6.

Broadalbin-Perth didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-2 victory against Fonda-Fultonville on the 2nd. Hopefully Glens Falls paid attention to the Patriots' game: the next time they hit the field , they'll take on the Patriots at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
