Basketball Recap: East Hardy Starts Season with Victory on the Road

East Hardy had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 72-69 victory over the Southern Rams. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 73-62 win the Rams walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2016.

East Hardy found their leader in sophomore Simon Combs, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 19 boards. Another player making a difference was Evan Hamilton, who posted 13 points in addition to eight assists and six rebounds.

Looking ahead, East Hardy will head out to take on Pendleton County at 6:00 p.m. on the 10th. As for Southern, they will host Hampshire at 7:30 p.m. on the 9th.
