Softball Recap: Littlestown Beats Fairfield for Their Third Straight Win

Littlestown had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Fairfield Knights a 16-0 shutout. The Thunderbolts might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by ten runs or more this season.

Alexis Stonesifer made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Stonesifer was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. Those stolen bases were her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Reese Rucker, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Libby Brown was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Littlestown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Littlestown picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 5-3. As for Fairfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.
