Basketball Recap: Ashland Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Ashland's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They had just enough and edged the East Grand Vikings out 43-41. The victory was some much needed relief for the Hornets as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Ashland's win bumped their record up to 4-13. As for East Grand, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season.

Ashland and East Grand could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Maine Rankings. Ashland (ranked 124th) will meet Katahdin (ranked 26th) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, East Grand will square off against Hodgdon at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday down 96 places (120 vs. 24).
