Baseball Game Preview: Bonneville Bees vs. Shelley Russets

For the second straight game, Bonneville will face off against Shelley. Bonneville will challenge Shelley at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Bonneville is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.

Bonneville's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Shelley as Bonneville made off with a 10-0 win. The Bees might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by eight runs or more this season.

Coltan Spagnuolo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

In other batting news, Taye Lords was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Webb, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Bonneville hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shelley struck out six times.

Shelley dropped their record down to 2-3 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Bonneville, their record now sits at 7-2.

Shelley's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Bonneville has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game.
