Montpelier is 9-1 against Hilltop since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Montpelier Locomotives will welcome the Hilltop Cadets at 7:15 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Montpelier has ten straight wins, Hilltop has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Saturday, Montpelier needed a bit of extra time to put away Edgerton. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 45-42 victory over the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, Hilltop was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 53-49 to Continental.

Montpelier pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Hilltop, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

Everything came up roses for Montpelier against Hilltop when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 66-22 victory. Will Montpelier repeat their success, or does Hilltop have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
