Basketball Game Preview: Mangum Tigers vs. Burns Flat-Dill City Eagles

Mangum is 7-2 against Burns Flat-Dill City since January of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Mangum Tigers will welcome the Burns Flat-Dill City Eagles at 8:00 p.m. Mangum will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Last Friday, in a tight game that could have gone either way, Mangum made off with a 53-52 win over Navajo.

Meanwhile, Burns Flat-Dill City lost 65-42 to Canute on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 327th, while the Trojans are ranked 85th).

Burns Flat-Dill City has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.1 points over those games. As for Mangum, they pushed their record up to 15-7 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Mangum beat Burns Flat-Dill City 57-50 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Will Mangum repeat their success, or does Burns Flat-Dill City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
