Baseball Recap: Austin Beats Faribault for Their Fourth Straight Win

Austin got themselves on the board against Faribault on Thursday, but Faribault never followed suit. They walked away with a 5-0 win over the Falcons. That five run margin sets a new team best for the Packers this season.

Not much got past John Rollie, who gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Faribault off the board. Rollie also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Austin is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-6 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Cooper Jacobsen was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Casey Denzer was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Austin, bringing their record up to 5-7. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of two runs across that stretch. As for Faribault, they dropped their record down to 1-12 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Falcons beat Austin by a score of 10-7 later that day.
