Baseball Game Preview: Eden Prairie Eagles vs. Andover Huskies

The Eden Prairie Eagles will challenge the Andover Huskies at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Eden Prairie has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Andover will arrive with five straight wins.

On Friday, Eden Prairie came up short against St. Michael-Albertville and fell 5-2.

Meanwhile, Andover never let their opponents score on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Centennial as they made off with an 8-0 victory.

Andover got a great performance from Brett Buettner as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Buettner has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Danny Scheller was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Jaxon Knutson was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Andover pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Eden Prairie, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
