Football Recap: Jo Byrns Takes a Loss

The Jo Byrns Red Devils were just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 22-21 to the Christian Community Colts. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 214th, while the Colts are ranked second).

A big part of Christian Community's victory came down to the chemistry between Jayce Poulin and his top target Landon Bowles. Poulin threw for 220 yards and two TDs while Bowles picked up 74 receiving yards and one score.

Jo Byrns' loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Christian Community, their record is now 5-2.

Looking ahead, Jo Byrns will challenge Red Boiling Springs on Friday. The Red Devils will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 43 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Christian Community, they will face off against Providence Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
