Baseball Preview: Alamosa Mean Moose vs. Lamar Thunder
Alamosa is 0-7 against Lamar since April of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Mean Moose will host the Thunder at 11:00 a.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Alamosa took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Gunnison, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Lamar kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rye only managed two hits.
Lamar pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.6 runs over those games. As for Alamosa, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-6.
