Soccer Recap: Batesburg-Leesville Comes Up Short

Batesburg-Leesville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Strom Thurmond Rebels. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Strom Thurmond this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in March.

Batesburg-Leesville's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Strom Thurmond, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-3.

Coming up, Batesburg-Leesville will square off against American Leadership Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Strom Thurmond, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Emerald at 6:00 p.m. on the 16th.
