Basketball Game Preview: Central Catholic Buttons vs. TMI-Episcopal Panthers

Central Catholic hasn't had much luck against TMI-Episcopal recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Buttons will host the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Tuesday, Central Catholic opened the new year with a less-than-successful 72-63 defeat to St. Michael's. While losing is never fun, the Buttons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Warriors are ranked ninth).

Meanwhile, TMI-Episcopal waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 71-59.

Central Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 22-5. As for TMI-Episcopal, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.

Central Catholic couldn't quite finish off TMI-Episcopal when the teams last played back in January of 2025 and fell 45-43. Can the Buttons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
