Miller School of Albemarle skates past Carlisle with ease

The Miller School of Albemarle Mavericks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 21 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 65-32 victory over Carlisle on the road. The victory was nothing new for Miller School of Albemarle as they're now sitting on six straight.

Miller School of Albemarle's win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Reece Hagy, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and seven assists. Those seven assists set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Ryan Crotty, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds.

Several Chiefs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trey Beamer, who scored 11 points along with five assists. Beamer scored a full 34.4% of Carlisle's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Branson Leduc-Mattox was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Miller School of Albemarle's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Carlisle, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Miller School of Albemarle will take on The Covenant at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in The Covenant's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches. As for Carlisle, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Chatham at 7:00 p.m. Chatham will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 266th, while Carlisle is ranked 55th).
