Softball Recap: Lincoln Charter Continues Road Dominance on Friday

Lincoln Charter won against Cherryville last Wednesday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Eagles beat the Pine Lake Prep Pride by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 4-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Mia Hammond spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mallie Courson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Lincoln Charter pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Pine Lake Prep, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 7-2.

Lincoln Charter didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 16-1 victory against Langtree Charter Academy on the 1st. As for Pine Lake Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 17-1 win against Mountain Island Charter on the 1st.
