Baseball Recap: Le Roy Beats Oakfield-Alabama for Their Ninth Straight Win

Le Roy proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 15) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Oakfield-Alabama Hornets 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Oatkan Knights have posted since April 4th.

Peter Clark spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, Le Roy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Higgins, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

The victory was the ninth in a row for Le Roy, bringing their record up to 10-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Oakfield-Alabama, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Le Roy will host Keshequa at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Indians will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Oatkan Knights surely won't give up without a fight. As for Oakfield-Alabama, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Notre Dame at 4:15 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hornets 4, the Fighting Irish 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
