Softball Recap: Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy came into this matchup off a tough nine-run loss on Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Holy Name Green Wave by a score of 8-6 on Tuesday. The Royals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Shaye Tepley was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Tepley wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Lily Siemen, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Holy Name, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.

Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy has already played their next match, a 10-1 loss against Elyria Catholic on the 23rd. As for Holy Name, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-0 win against Lake Catholic on the 24th.
