The Genoa-Hugo/Karval Pirates won the last time they faced the Hanover Hornets, and things went their way on Saturday too. Genoa-Hugo/Karval blew past Hanover 45-23.
Genoa-Hugo/Karval's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Haley Ewing led the charge by scoring 10 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amy James, who scored 12 points.
The victory got Genoa-Hugo/Karval back to even at 1-1. As for Hanover, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Genoa-Hugo/Karval will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Arickaree at 4:00 p.m. As for Hanover, they will head out on the road to face off against Cheraw at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
