Soccer Game Preview: Roy vs. Bonneville

The Roy Royals will head out on the road to face off against the Bonneville Lakers at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Roy and Bountiful meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Royals fell just short of the RedHawks by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, Bonneville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Viewmont. The match was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Bonneville couldn't quite close it out.

Bonneville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Roy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Roy took their win against Bonneville when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 5-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Royals since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
