Baseball Game Preview: Harlandale Indians vs. Jay Mustangs

The Harlandale Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Jay Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Harlandale has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 28.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Harlandale and Southwest, and Southwest kept the tradition alive. Harlandale might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-2 to Southwest, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Nathan Ramos was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Ramos wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Maurice Medina, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases. Those two stolen bases gave Medina a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Jay was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 7-3 to MacArthur.

Harlandale's record is now 2-12. As for Jay, their record now sits at 3-6.

Harlandale came out on top in a nail-biter against Jay when the teams last played back in March of 2022, sneaking past 2-1. Will Harlandale repeat their success, or does Jay have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
