Softball Preview: Dougherty Valley Wildcats vs. Heritage Patriots
The Dougherty Valley Wildcats will square off against the Heritage Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dougherty Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
Dougherty Valley took a 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Dublin, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wildcats came out on top in a nail-biter against the Gaels two weeks ago, sneaking past 9-8. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Wildcats as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Katie Osborn was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off seven hits. Osborn was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Dougherty Valley got a massive performance out of Lauren Lohe, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Those four hits gave Lohe a new career-high. Sydney Henry was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Dougherty Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
