Volleyball Recap: North Olmsted Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

North Olmsted hadn't done well against Rocky River recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Eagles skirted past the Pirates 3-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

North Olmsted was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (106-105), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-23, 17-25, 26-24, 15-9.

Alyssa Byers paced North Olmsted's offense, picking up 20 kills. Byers got some help from Molly Wheeler and her 44 assists. Wheeler also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Ella Davis, each putting up four.

North Olmsted's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5. As for Rocky River, their defeat ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 12-11.

Looking ahead, North Olmsted will head out to challenge Highland at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rocky River does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
