It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Moody had no problem doing just that on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Archer City Wildcats as they made off with a 16-6 victory. Considering the Bearcats have won 12 matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Shelby Slaughter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Emma Ward, who got on base in all six of her plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Zhari Chapman was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.

Moody kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win was the seventh in a row for Moody, bringing their record up to 19-8-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Archer City, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 11-10 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Moody beat the Wildcats by a score of 7-2 later that day.
