Baseball Recap: Raceland Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Boyd County, Raceland was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Everything went their way against the Lewis County Lions as they made off with a 16-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won 13 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Landon Bloss made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Connor Thacker was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kadin Shore, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base.

Raceland pushed their record up to 25-6 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Lewis County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-22.

As of now, neither Raceland nor the Lions have any future games scheduled.
