Volleyball Recap: Swanton Starts off Right with Win over Stryker

Swanton had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Stryker Panthers by a score of 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won nine in a row.

Swanton was especially dominant in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 21-25, 25-15, 25-19.

Kinley Curtis paced Swanton's offense, picking up 29 kills. Curtis got some help from Cara Ludlow and her 34 assists. Ludlow was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Stryker's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Swanton will look to takes advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they takes on Hicksville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Stryker, they will square off against Edon at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give the Panthers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
